Punjabi Calendar 2025 January. It is based on “barah maha” (twelve months). It is a solar calendar based on ancient hindu tradition.

While the gregorian year begins in january, the punjabi calendar starts with chet (ਚੇਤ) in march, around the time of the spring equinox. These festivals are hence called “gurpurab”.
